Robbie's Bio

Robbie at the micRobbie Bartlett has been performing in Louisville area nightclubs since 1982.  With her talent and strong sense of musical direction, it is electric and engaging. Her warm smoky alto voice is heard regularly at popular clubs.

She started singing at age four and developed a strong foundation in R&B and jazz.  Styles include "Respect" by Aretha Franklin, "Good Morning Heartache" by Billie Holiday, "Give Me One Reason" by Tracy Chapman, and "At Last." by Etta James.

When the Louisville Palace was renovated, Robbie was called to perform at Stagedoor Johnnie's, the adjoining nightclub. When the Palace booked Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Sheryl Crow, The Righteous Brothers and many others, Robbie and her band opened there shows.  David Crosby and Graham Nash specifically asked for her to perform before and after their concert.

B.B.King sent word back through his daughter (Shirley King) after hearing me sing with her and her band, " Who is that? I like her voice".

Robbie's always in high demand for outdoor festivals, weddings, birthdays, country club activities, fundraisers, and house concerts.

I've just finished my first movie score "The Gift of your love" with Travis Myles who wrote the movie. He wrote the lyrics to the title song by the same name. I wrote the score, recorded, played piano & sang it. My guitarist Richard Streander recorded the guitar & bass tracks. Paul Culligan played drums and Ed Humphries played sax. You can buy the song from CD Baby.
